Wrexham club skipper Brian Carey has admitted he is likely to miss the rest of the season after needing further surgery on his troublesome knee. That means the 36-year-old Irishman will miss next month's LDV Vans final and Wrexham's relegation fight.
"The consultant has recommended keyhole surgery, but he was very optimistic that when it's been done I should be able to carry on playing," Carey said.
"But it's very unlikely that I'll be playing before the end of the season."
Carey underwent an exploratory operation on his knee last week, in an attempt to look for the problem that has sidelined the defender since mid-October.
