Liverpool's top stars could be seen in Wrexham next season |
Wrexham's Racecourse Ground will stage all of Liverpool's home reserve team fixtures next season. The exact financial terms of the deal have yet to be finalised, but Wrexham managing director John Reames said it will provide a huge financial boost.
He told BBC Wales Sport: "It's great news for Wrexham as it brings a very famous team to the Racecourse.
"It will give a lot of Liverpool fans in North Wales a chance to see some of their favourite players in Wrexham."
He added: "I've still got to reach a financial agreement. I've gone through the basic terms with [Liverpool chief executive] Rick Parry.
"I've got no concerns that we won't reach an agreement early next week when we meet."
Reames also revealed the two clubs could soon form an even closer link together, with Wrexham becoming a feeder club for the Premiership club.
"Relationships between the two clubs are extremely close," he said.
"Liverpool know our youth development system and our facilities, which I have to say are Premiership standard.
"They [Liverpool] are most impressed with that and see the scope for a link-up between the two clubs." Liverpool were forced to find a new home ground for their reserve team after Chester terminated their agreement for them to use the Deva Stadium.
Chester accused the Anfield giants of failing to honour a promise to play them in a pre-season friendly.
Liverpool have instead organised a match with Wrexham on 21 July, to the delighted of the Dragons.
Said Reames: "Liverpool's intention is to bring their strongest possible squad and that will be great for the people of the area.
"It's a real proud moment for the club and something again which is financially very important to us."
Meanwhile, Wrexham centre back Dennis Lawrence has been granted a new work permit.
The Trinidad and Tabago international recently signed a new three-year contract with the Dragons.
