Wrexham manager Denis Smith was relieved to secure 100,000 after the 4-1 win in the FAW Premier Cup final against Rhyl at Belle Vue. "Every bit of money at this club is welcome and it should make sure wages are paid this summer," said Smith.
"This is a tough time for players and managers, I've got 14 players waiting for a decision on their futures.
"I lost my two main strikers at the end of last year and hope not to lose anyone I want to keep this year."
Smith had words of praise for his Welsh Premier opposition, and for the value of the Premier Cup.
"Rhyl have had a superb season, but there's a difference between the professional and semi-professional game and it was one game too many for them last night," he told BBC Sport Wales.
"It's a good competition, a competition we like where you can find out the best team in Wales.
"The money is of huge importance to us, but I like picking up trophies, that's what football's all about.
"I hope the competition continues and that there could be a European place resting on it.
"Ourselves, Cardiff and Swansea could all do well in Europe."
