Second spot in sight
Denis Smith
Wrexham Manager Denis Smith
Denis Smith has told his Wrexham players to continue their winning streak and secure the runners-up spot in Division Three.

The Dragons have already sealed promotion to Division Two, and after notching up their seventh win in a row with a 1-0 victory over Leyton Orient on Tuesday, Smith has now set his sights on second place.

"We have plenty left to fight for to give ourselves a chance on Saturday of piping Hartlepool for the runners-up spot," said the Wrexham boss.

If Wrexham win their last game of the season away at Bury and Rushden beat Hartlepool, it is they who will finish in second place.

"After Saturday, it was always going to be a difficult game for the lads, but to perform in the manner they did was a credit to them," added Smith after Tuesday's victory over the O's.

"The lads are up for it and they want to finish the year on a winning note."
