Wolverhampton Wanderers chairman Steve Morgan believes having a young squad will give them a real chance in the Premier League next season.

Wolves ensured they would return to the top flight with Saturday's 1-0 victory over QPR at Molineux.

"The players have been fabulous, it's a very young side and that's a plus. Most of the players are nowhere near their peak," Morgan told BBC Midlands Today.

"I'm very proud knowing we'll be in the Premier League next season."

Morgan bought Wolves from Sir Jack Hayward for just £10 in August 2007, although he also guaranteed to invest £30m in the club.

"This is the culmination of a really hard season with lots of ups and downs but what a fabulous end to it. It's a big tribute to Mick McCarthy, the backroom team and all the players.

"I was born and bred a Liverpool fan and I can't wait to play them in the Premier League next season. We'll try and get six points off them, that would be fantastic."

Wolves were last in the Premier League in the 2003-04 season when they finished bottom under manager Dave Jones.
