Stearman moved to Wolves from Leicester in the summer
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy says Richard Stearman may have to wait to get back into the team after he was left out of Tuesday's win over Swansea.
Defender Stearman was due to play but was caught in traffic and arrived late for the game at Molineux.
McCarthy told BBC WM: "He was due to play but it was quarter-past-six and I needed to pick the team.
"There's no problem now with him but the two lads (Neil Collins and Jason Shackell) played well."
Wolves' 2-1 win took them back to the top of the Championship and McCarthy was pleased with the way Collins and Shackell coped with the threat of Swansea.
"They played very well," McCarthy said.
"I think Neil is to be applauded because he was chewing like a dog when he was left out of the side and he came back in and played really well."
McCarthy also handed a debut to recent loan signing Michael Mancienne.
"He's a player," added the Wolves boss. "He couldn't feel his legs when he went on because he was frozen.
"He's a very good defender and highly thought of at Chelsea. We're fortunate to have got him."
