Chapple led Woking to the Conference and won three FA Trophies
Woking legend Geoff Chapple says he doubts the Blue Square Premier club will revert to part-time playing staff.
Chapple is now commercial manager after two renowned spells at the Surrey club as manager.
He told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "I couldn't really see it happening, part-time wages and full-time wages, there's not a lot of difference."
"The wages here at Woking are not massive so there would not be a benefit to go part-time."
He continued: "I would certainly think that there are chairmen in the league looking at it because they're chasing that elusive dream of promotion.
"You can't buy it and if you do try to buy it you're going to end up in a bit of trouble."
Meanwhile, Chapple's boss, commercial director David Hemley, confirmed that a supporter phoned him with a possible 10,000 investment to the club's recently launched share scheme.
It is hoped that funds raised by the supporter base will go some way to reduce the deficit left by owner Chris Ingram as he withdraws around 300,000 a year in May next year.
