Barrow ended his playing days at Chester and made 248 appearances

Altrincham assistant manager Graham Barrow has returned to Premier League side Wigan as first-team coach.

Barrow, 55, made 179 appearances for the Latics between 1981 and 1986 and managed the club between 1994 and 1995.

He began his managerial career at Chester and also had three years in charge at Rochdale and two at Bury.

Barrow teams up with new Latics boss Roberto Martinez, who he signed as a player in 1995, and said: "It really is a dream come true to return here."
