Weymouth investor suffers stroke

Weymouth

Stephen Beer, the Devon-based businessman who is investing in Weymouth Football Club, has had a stroke on his way to a news conference.

Beer has pledged £300,000 to help the club with their financial plight and was due to outline his plans for the Terras at the event on Tuesday.

Director Mark Goldsby said: "I don't know what affect this'll have, frankly it's something we'll worry about later.

"Firstly, we need to know if Stephen's alright," he added.

Beer was taken to Dorset County Hospital.
