Daprela was surplus to requirements at West Ham

Italian side Brescia have signed Swiss defender Fabio Daprela on a permanent deal from West Ham.

The 19-year-old has agreed to a five-year contract with Brescia, who have been promoted to Serie A.

A statement from the club read: "Brescia announce the acquisition of Fabio Daprela. Daprela has signed a five-year contract."

The left-back made seven appearances for West Ham last season, having joined them from Grasshoppers in 2009.
