West Ham have signed Swiss left-back Fabio Daprela from Grasshopper Club Zurich for an undisclosed fee.
Daprela, 18, agreed a five-year deal with the Hammers after flying in to sign from the Uefa European Under-19 Championship in Ukraine.
"I am very happy to come here as it is a great club with a great manager," he told West Ham's website.
"I want to play in the first team in the Premier League. I'm looking forward to the season starting."
