Menseguez may feature against Newcastle on Saturday
West Brom's on-loan Argentine winger Juan Carlos Menseguez is something of an unknown quantity according to West Baggies manager Tony Mowbray.
The 24-year-old arrived at the Hawthorns from San Lorenzo on deadline day without Mowbray seeing him play.
"He's a bit of a wildcard for us, to see if he can make any impact over the next few months," Mowbray told BBC WM.
"He's obviously not a player I've seen live out in South America but on tape he looks very exciting."
Menseguez has joined the Baggies until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent move should they retain their place in the Premier League.

And Mowbray admits he has taken a gamble over whether the former River Plate forward can boost West Brom's survival bid.
"I'm not too sure at the moment," Mowbray explained. "He's played in Europe, he played at Wolfsburg for three or four years as a very young player.
"I got a bit of feedback from one of his coaches at Wolfsburg who thinks he could use his positive attributes to help our cause."
Menseguez could have an early opportunity to impress as Albion's injury list continues to be a concern ahead of this weekend's crucial Premier League game with Newcastle at the Hawthorns.
James Morrison and Robert Koren are both hoping to be fit to play but Jonathan Greening is definitely out and Jay Simpson damaged a hamstring during Tuesday's FA Cup defeat at Burnley.
Mowbray also has a worry over Spanish playmaker Borja Valero who has a tight hamstring.
