James Morrison could miss the Villa game with a groin injury
West Brom boss Tony Mowbray is waiting on the fitness of Gianni Zuiverloon and James Morrison before finalising plans for Saturday's derby at Aston Villa.
Dutch defender Zuiverloon has a sore knee, while Scottish international Morrison has a slight groin strain.
"Thursday will be the acid test for Gianni and James," Baggies manager Tony Mowbray told the club's website. "If they don't train they'll be doubts."
West Brom are already minus Filipe Teixeira and Abdoulaye Meite.
"Filipe's about where Abou is really," said Mowbray. "They are a week away, maybe two weeks away.
"Whether their return falls for the cup game or Middlesbrough at home, maybe the one after that - I don't know."
Mowbray has also indicated that he will not be sending out striker Craig Beattie on loan again during the transfer window, preferring to keep the Scottish international as part of his first team plans.
Beattie has caught the eye after returning from a short spell with Crystal Palace in the Championship.
"He came back with a real spring in his step and we've had no contact from Palace or anybody else," said Mowbray. "He will have to see how the selection of the team goes.
"He has proved he can score in the Premier League and hopefully there are more goals there for him."
