Baggies are right club for Valero

Spanish midfielder Borja Valero heads for Stoke with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday admitting that he is better suited to the Baggies than the Potters.

"We play in a more Spanish style than others so that is better for me," said the summer signing from Real Mallorca.

"Here it is a crazy game. In the beginning, it was difficult for me and I needed some time to get used to it.

"Maybe I couldn't play in another team in England. Bolton and Stoke wouldn't suit me," he told the club website.

The Baggies visit the Britannia desperate to stop a poor run of results that has seen them slip to the bottom of the Premier League. But Valero admits that, despite their league position, he is enjoying the rigours of the English game.

And the 23-year-old midfielder insists that the extra fitness work he has been doing has helped him cope with the physical demands of the Premier League.

"It is more physical but I am fine," he said. "Teams play hard but I have adapted and I am very happy with that.

"I do extra work in the gym every week because I want to improve my body and this is helping me in the games."
