West Brom defender Neil Clement is hoping he will be selected to play in the FA Cup semi-final to complete a remarkable turnaround in fortunes.

Clement was loaned to Hull on 29 February but was recalled to the Albion starting eleven for Tuesday's draw with Cardiff at Ninian Park.

Clement told BBC WM: "We've got a big squad of players and everyone's itching to play in that game.

"But I can't say I'm not up for it, that's for sure."

The match at Cardiff on 1 April saw him start a League game for Albion for the first time since the opening game of the season, at Burnley in August.

Now Clement is in contention for a place in the Albion team to play Portsmouth in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

He added: "I'm feeling ready for it but we'll see what the manager wants to do, a game like that doesn't come along very often, if I get the shout I'll do my best."

Albion manager Tony Mowbray said: "Neil gives you an assurance, a confidence with the ball at his feet and a wealth of knowledge, he's played at the top level.

"Neil had big injury problems earlier on in the season after starting the first game at Burnley for us.

"[Sending him to Hull] was really about getting some confidence and self-belief back for himself so that he could play without the discomfort of the injury, which hasn't gone away.

"It's there, he's got to live with the injury but he's doing that well."
