Pearson will remain at West Brom
West Brom assistant boss Nigel Pearson
Pearson has been at West Brom since November 2004
Nigel Pearson will remain as assistant boss at West Brom after he was unsuccessful in his bid to land the managerial vacancy at Ipswich.

Baggies manager Bryan Robson told the club's website: "Nige hasn't got the Ipswich job but it was still a good experience for him.

"Ipswich are a big club. I couldn't really stand in his way but now he'll be continuing his job here.

"The two of us enjoy working together and we've got a job to do."

Colin Calderwood was also linked to the Ipswich job but was appointed manager at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.

Pearson, meanwhile, will concentrate on helping the Baggies make an immediate return to the Premiership.
