Calderwood has had a promising start to his managerial career |
Northampton boss Colin Calderwood has cut short his family holiday in Dubai to be interviewed for the manager's vacancy at Ipswich. BBC Radio Northampton says Calderwood has returned to hold talks with Ipswich chairman David Sheepshanks.
Calderwood guided the Cobblers to promotion from League Two, but a clause in his contract, which runs to 2008, allows him to talk to other clubs.
Northampton would seek 200,000 compensation for Calderwood.
Northampton chairman David Cardoza told his club's website Ipswich's approach activated a clause in Calderwood's contract allowing him to speak to them.
"I expect the matter to be resolved very quickly so we can continue planning for our assault on League One," said Cardoza.
