Watford midfielder Stephen McGinn is set to be out for at least a month after suffering a fractured cheekbone and eye socket against QPR on Friday.
The 20-year-old, who has played 22 times this season, picked up the injury in an innocuous looking challenge with Rangers frontman Rob Hulse.
"It's very disappointing for him," boss Malky Mackay told the club website.
"But we've already spoken about how I want him to step on again during these next four or five weeks."
The young Scot, who joined Watford from St Mirren in January, has featured in all but one of his side's Championship games this season and scored his first goal for the club in a 3-2 defeat by Portsmouth in October.
"He's really taken to Championship football - and he's shown that more than ever of late," Mackay added.
"He's been a real plus point for us this season. He does a lot of nice, unfussy stuff for the team, things that aren't always immediately noticeable or have wow factor about them.
"You saw that in Friday night at QPR, linking up with with Danny [Graham] really well."
