Rodgers was reserve team coach at Chelsea before taking over at Watford
Watford boss Brendan Rodgers has said he is proud of efforts so far in his first management role.
Rodgers took over at Vicarage Road in November with the Hornets hovering around the relegation zone and has led them to a secure mid-table finish.
He told BBC Three Counties Radio: "I am very proud because I was no-one really.
"I have had to show that I could fight as well as anyone so how I earned my respect was through coaching and working with the biggest players."
"I didn't have the protection of being a big player. I have been proud that I have been able to come into the middle of a fight and not only get us out of it and end up in 13th position, but actually see the development.
"Winning for me is more than on the field, winning is seeing people develop as human beings, seeing players get better and it is only the start. I really want to kick it on for next season. "
