Andy Wilson, the interim chairman of Watford Leisure plc, has resigned from the board of the Championship club with immediate effect.

Wilson, who took over the role at the end of 2008, will remain as a shareholder at the club.

"Andy had no desire to take on this role on an ongoing basis," said chief executive officer Julian Winter.

Winter also indicated that Wilson's replacement will be appointed from the existing board.
