Jimmy Walker has played more games for Walsall than any other goalkeeper
Walsall have re-signed goalkeeper Jimmy Walker on a short-term deal, more than six years after he left the Saddlers.
Walker, 37, spent 11 years at the Bescot Stadium, winning three promotions and playing 475 games.
"Everyone knows how much I enjoyed my time here," said the former West Ham stopper. "Walsall are a club close to my heart and it's great to be back."
Walker is available to play against Huddersfield on Saturday, subject to clearance from the Premier League.
He joins with Walsall in the relegation zone in League One and manager Chris Hutchings believes Walker's arrival will give the club a much-needed lift.
"He [Walker] has the experience that we need at this time," said Hutchings. "He's a strong character and the type of person who will get people going.
"He had 11 very successful years at the club and knows what we are all about. Since then he has worked alongside some top players and that higher level experience and know-how is sure to serve us well.
"On top of that he is a firm favourite amongst the supporters and will add extra competition for places.
"I am delighted to be able to bring him in and look forward to working alongside him."
Walker left Walsall in 2004 to join West Ham United and spent five years at Upton Park before a short spell at Tottenham.
