Shroot (right) is awaiting his first start since joining Walsall on loan
Walsall's on-loan winger Robin Shroot says the encouragement he has been given by Birmingham boss Alex McLeish means a lot to him.
"He's an absolute legend," Shroot told BBC WM. "I show him that I want to work hard every day, and he appreciates it and sees how hungry I am.
"He's told me he doesn't have any doubts about me playing for him."
The 20-year-old joined the Saddlers on a one-month loan deal in a bid to gain first-team experience.
The Northern Ireland Under-21 international has made just one appearance for Blues, in their 2-0 FA Cup defeat by Wolves in January.
I'll give it my all and hopefully help Walsall up the table, towards the play-offs

He moved to St Andrew's from Ryman Premier Division side Harrow Borough early in the new year.
Shroot added: "He (McLeish) wants me to get league experience because he sees me as part of his plans, which is good."
Shroot is hoping that he can help Walsall keep their distant play-off hopes alive during his loan spell. The Saddlers are 10 points behind the top six after failing to win any of their last three games.
"I'll give it my all and hopefully help Walsall up the table, towards the play-offs," he added.
