Villa's Williams joins Saddlers

Sam Williams
Sam Williams has league experience at Wrexham, Brighton and Colchester.

Walsall have signed young striker Sam Williams from Premier League neighbours Aston Villa on a one-month loan deal.

The 21-year-old has been a regular scorer for Villa's reserve team in recent seasons.

Saddlers manager Chris Hutchings told the club's website: "He's a young and hungry footballer with some Premier League pedigree."

Subject to Premier League clearance, Williams could make his debut against Leeds United on Saturday.

Hutchings added: "He's a hard-working front-man who can link up play and I'm looking forward to working with him.

"We've been working hard behind the scenes to add to the squad and are delighted to have been able to bring Sam in."

Williams was loaned out to Wrexham for the second half of the 2005/06 season and to Brighton & Hove Albion during the 2006/07 campaign.

He also had a loan spell at Colchester United earlier this season.
