Hutchings is still looking for his first win as Walsall boss
Walsall boss Chris Hutchings has failed in his bid to strengthen his squad ahead of the visit of Leeds to The Banks's Stadium on Saturday.
Hutchings was hoping to bring in a couple of new faces but his initial efforts have been unsuccessful.
"We've had one or two knockbacks from clubs who don't want to let their players out," Hutchings told BBC WM.
"It's disappointing but you have to keep working down your list and hoping things come off for you."
Although he has not been able to add to his squad, Hutchings's options ahead of the game with Leeds have broadened with the return to training of four key players.
"We've had experienced players missing but (Rhys) Weston, (Stephen) Hughes, (Steve) Roberts and (Michael) Ricketts have trained with us so that's a massive plus," Hutchings added.
"We've only got a small squad and the younger players who've come in have done exceptionally well and that's all I can ask of them."
