Walsall's youngsters needed extra time to overcome Rochdale 4-3 in the second round of the FA Youth Cup.

Goals from Will Grigg and Sam Adkins meant the game ended level at 2-2 after normal time at the Banks's Stadium.

George Bowerman and James Travis were both on target in the first extra period to squeeze Mick Halsall's side into round three.

The Saddlers' reward will be a testing trip to face Barnsley at Oakwell in the middle of December.

Rochdale's goals came from Dennis Sherriff, Andrew Brown and Michael Roche, though they later lost Sherriff to a serious-looking leg injury.
