Tranmere manager Les Parry has admitted Rovers rejected a number of offers for young striker Dale Jennings, including one from a Premier League club.
The 19-year-old has impressed with five goals in 23 appearances this season.
"We did have interest in Dale and we had some decent offers for him," Parry told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"We're fortunate that the chairman still backs the club fully and we were able to say to at least one Premier League club 'no thanks'."
He added: "The chairman (Peter Johnson) has done that for Dale Jennings to be quite honest.

"He's concerned that Dale continues his education at our level so he plays a lot of football.
"He thinks that will make him a better player and a more valuable player in the future," continued Parry.
"It sounds like we're taking a chance but the chairman doesn't care, he just wants the best for Dale."
