Striker Dale Jennings signs first Tranmere contract
Tranmere Rovers striker Dale Jennings has signed his first two-year professional contract at Prenton Park.
The 17-year-old, who made his first team debut this season in the 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic in September, is now tied to Rovers until 2012.
Jennings has now made five appearances, scoring his first goal in last month's 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers.
"Dale has progressed well and doesn't look out of place in our first team," said Tranmere boss Les Parry.
"He's only young but he has shown glimpses of his potential so far.
"And, if he continues to work hard, I'm sure he has a bright future ahead of him."
The youngster joined Tranmere's centre of excellence two years ago, scoring 19 goals for the reserves and youth team last season and has five goals for the reserves this term.
"It is a great day for me," said Jennings. "All apprentices dream of the day they sign their first professional contract.
"I'm really pleased the club has given me this opportunity and hopefully I can repay them on the pitch."
