Mantom has made two appearances for West Brom this season

Tranmere have signed West Brom midfielder Sam Mantom on a month-long emergency loan deal.

The 18-year-old will cover for injuries and suspensions in the Rovers midfield, and could make his debut in Tuesday's game against Hartlepool.

"I'm pleased to be able to bring Sam to the club," said Rovers boss Les Parry.

"He's a highly-rated young midfielder, who is energetic and comfortable on the ball. I'd like to thank West Brom for allowing him to come to us."

The Stourbridge-born central midfielder came through the youth system at West Brom, before signing his first professional contract in May.

Mantom has spent time on loan at Icelandic side Haukur in the summer, and has international experience after being a member of the England Under-17 squad.
