Tranmere Rovers have signed Manchester United defender Scott Wootton on a one-month loan deal.
The 19-year-old was once part of the Tranmere academy but was sold to Liverpool at the age of 13 before moving to Old Trafford.
"I'm pleased to be able to bring Scott to the club," manager Les Parry told the Rovers website.
Meanwhile, Rovers have extended the loan spell of Derby midfielder Arnaud Mendy, 19, by a further two months.
The Frenchman, who initially joined Rovers on a one-month deal in August, will now stay at Prenton Park until 30 November.
"I'm pleased to be able to keep him," said Parry. "He's big, strong and athletic, likes a tackle and is comfortable on the ball, so he's a good player to keep hold of."
Mendy, who signed for Derby from Rouen in 2008, has made six appearances for Rovers and scored the winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Peterborough United.
