Tranmere Rovers defender Marlon Broomes has described the calls for a change of manager at the club as "ridiculous".
Rovers' boss John Barnes has come under pressure after seeing his side lose eight of their last 12 matches.
"A lot of people have been calling for the managers head, which I think is a bit ridiculous really," Broomes told BBC Radio Merseyside.
"He hasn't got control over peoples' mistakes and that's what has been costing us."
Tranmere appear to have turned a corner during the last week, drawing with Colchester 1-1, then winning 1-0 at Wycombe.
Broomes believes the upturn in form has been due to his team-mates cutting out individual errors and is backing John Barnes's passing game.
"I don't think he (Barnes) is asking anything difficult, he just wants us to play football the way the game should be played.
If anyone knows the game and has seen the goals that have been costing us, its been nothing to do with formations, it's just been generally people's decision making

"If anyone knows the game and has seen the goals that have been costing us, it's been nothing to do with formations, its just been generally people's decision making," said Broomes.
Rovers make the trip to Millwall in League One on Saturday and Broomes is hoping his team-mates can build on their impressive result at Wycombe in midweek.
"I'm sure the lads are confident and there's no reason why we can't come away from the game with something," added Broomes.
