Tranmere's Steve Davies is facing months on the sidelines with cruciate knee ligament damage sustained during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Northampton. The 19-year-old winger was stretchered off after landing awkwardly following an aerial challenge in the first half.
Manager Ronnie Moore said: "He had been in great form for us this season.
"He has a positive character and there are plenty of players who have had cruciate ligament surgery and come back to hit top form with stronger knees."
