Tottenham centre-back Jonathan Woodgate has strained an adductor muscle in his left leg, a scan has confirmed.
Woodgate had not played for more than a year before coming on as a late substitute in Tuesday's Champions League victory over AC Milan.
The 30-year-old, who has undergone a series of operations on his groin, has made only 64 appearances since joining Spurs from Middlesbrough in 2008.
"It was a great feeling to be back," he said after Tuesday's match.
The news is a blow to Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp, who already has centre-halves Younes Kaboul (knee) and Ledley King (groin) sidelined.
