Defoe had scored three goals in five games for Spurs prior to his injury
Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe has returned to full training after more than two months on the sidelines with a foot injury.
The 26-year-old required surgery on a stress fracture to his right foot picked up in training in February.
Whilst the Premier League clash with Newcastle this Sunday could come too soon he could be in line to face Manchester United the following week.
"He's back and that's a big bonus for us," said Spurs manager Harry Redknapp.
"He was up very early, just like a kid at his first day at school. He's full of enthusiasm and he trained superbly, he looked really sharp, scored some fantastic goals.
"I'm sure there are a few goals left in him before the end of the season."
