Italian side Sampdoria claim to have signed Tottenham midfielder Reto Ziegler on a permanent deal. Ziegler has been on loan at the Serie A side since January and Sampdoria say they have now signed the Swiss player.
The 21-year-old joined Spurs in August 2004 but went on loan to Wigan and German side SV Hamburg to gain first-team experience.
He has now been allowed to leave White Hart Lane as Spurs continue their busy summer in the transfer market.
Tottenham have signed striker Darren Bent for �16.5m as well as securing left-back Gareth Bale from Southampton.
