The worry for me is players going - Buckle

Torquay United boss Paul Buckle says Bristol Rovers have not approached him about their vacant managerial post.

Rovers have been without a permanent manager since they sacked Paul Trollope on 15 December.

Buckle told BBC Spotlight: "Our chairman has not spoken to me about any approach at this moment in time.

"There is always speculation when there's a job available, but it's something that you just take with a pinch of salt."

Buckle, who has been in charge at Plainmoor since 2007, led the Devon side back into the Football League via the play-offs in 2009.

He continued: "You'd be lying as a manager if you said it's not nice for a club from a higher division to show interest, so you have to stare that one straight in the face."

Torquay are currently seventh in League Two, just six points behind the automatic promotion places.

Buckle said: "Certain players have worked their socks of for me this season for us to be in the FA Cup still and in a healthy position in the League.

"If you're name is linked it's a sign that things are going well at your club."
