Torquay United captain Chris Hargreaves feels his side have improved over the past month and hopes the fans have taken notice.
The Gulls endured a tough start to the season but have taken 16 points from their last six games to rise to 10th in the Blue Square Premier table.
He told BBC Devon: "We had a bad start and obviously the fans have every right to start demand better of us.
"Hopefully we've done that in the last five or six games."
And he says the disappointment of losing in last season's play-off semi-finals to Devon rivals Exeter City will motivate United in this campaign.
"No-one was more disappointed than me after last season and it's something that'll stay with me for a long time," he said.
"The only way to get it out of your mind is by doing it this season. We're going to do our best to do it, we've got the capabilities for sure."
