Striker Lee Phillips has moved to Rushden and Diamonds, less than a week after Torquay United's failure to regain their league status.
Phillips, who joined United from Exeter City 12 months ago, scored 16 goals last season and moves for an undisclosed fee.
Penzance-born Phillips, 27, has plied his trade solely in the west country, starting at Plymouth Argyle in 1996.
He moved to Weymouth in 2001 before switching to City in 2004.
He is the latest player to leave the club following the departure of seven of last year's squad.
On loan players Chris Zebroski, Jody Banim and Mark Ellis all returned to their parent clubs.
And Tony Bedeau, Matt Hockley, Darren Mullings and Paul Hinshelwood have all been released by boss Paul Buckle.
Torquay lost to Exeter City in the Blue Square Premier play-off semi-final earlier this month.
