Torquay defender Steve Woods will be sidelined for two to three weeks after learning he needs knee surgery. Having played through the pain for several weeks, the 30-year-old has been told that the knee will not improve without an operation.
He was due to go under the knife on Tuesday to have the knee cleaned out.
Woods, who began his career at Stoke, has made nearly 200 league appearances for the Gulls since joining from Chesterfield in the summer of 2001.
