On-loan Swindon Town striker David Ball says he is finding it tough not getting regular first team action.
The 21-year-old has not started a match since the end of October.
Ball arrived from Manchester City in the summer on a six-month deal and is determined to play more in the second half of the season, wherever he is.
"My next move is important for me in the sense that I have to play more and show people what I can actually do," he told BBC Wiltshire:
"I just feel like I haven't played as much as I would have like to and shown what I could have done."
And Ball admitted his medium to long-term future is yet to be resolved.
"I'm still in talks with [Manchester] City about contracts and stuff," he said.
"Whether I'm going to be sold by City or stay on here it's all down to City at the moment.
"It's been quite a frustrating time for me and but I've just tried to keep my head down in training and not show it's effecting me."
The former FA Youth Cup winner has had to settle for a place on the bench since starting the 3-3 league draw at Yeovil on 30 October.
"I came in and started four or five games and scored three goals and thought that would set me off," said Ball.
"And then I found myself left out of the [following] game against Charlton and have just found myself playing 20 minutes here and there.
"The fact that City have cup tied me meant that there have been a few games I haven't played in when I could have got myself back in the side."
With a busy fixture list over the Christmas period Ball is hoping to remind those watching why he was signed in the first place.
"For me it's a big time when I just want to show the fans what I can do," he added.
