Swindon Town captain Jonathon Douglas could return to the squad for Saturday's match against Colchester.
Douglas, 28, has missed the last five games after breaking his toe, a period that has seen Swindon win just once.
"I think he'll train on Thursday and we'll see how he goes after that. He's raring to go, you can understand that," boss Danny Wilson told BBC Wiltshire.
"We'll see how his toe stands up to the rigours of training and then we'll take it from there on Saturday."
