Swindon Town manager Danny Wilson has credited on-loan winger Matt Richie for giving his team a much needed boost.
The 21-year-old Portsmouth midfielder was man-of-the-match in Swindon's 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers on Monday.
"We trust him and we think he can develop into a decent player," Wilson told BBC Wiltshire.
"He suits our play and is so effervescent in things he does in training as well. From our point of view he's given us a lift and a spark.
Wilson continued: "He's someone with Premiership experience at the moment - he went with Portsmouth's first team a few times last season.
"He's played a few times in the Championship this season - the boy can play."
It is Ritchie's second spell at the club, having spent a couple of months at the County Ground last season.
He was restricted to just four appearances from the bench due to the form of Danny Ward, who was on-loan from Premiership side Bolton Wanderers.
"There's no doubt about it he can play and he needs to play - that's why we brought him in," added Wilson.
"I've said many times before - he doesn't have to be the type of player fans expect.
"He doesn't have to be goalscorer that gets 40 goals a season.
"Sometimes it's in other departments that he can help the rest of the team and he's given us a real lift there."
