Swindon coach Ady Williams said his team were made to look "like mugs" by Salisbury in a 2-0 friendly defeat.
Most of the first-team were given the game off, but Hasney Aljofree, Jack Smith and Phil Smith all played.
Williams was in charge of the team for the match and told BBC Radio Swindon he was disappointed with what he saw.
"We had a fairly experienced side out. But if you come to a place like Salisbury and you're not up to the pace then sometimes you look like mugs."
Williams added: "They played ever so well, they were physical and were worthy winners in the end."
