Amankwaah played just four times for Swansea last season

Swindon Town defender Kevin Amankwaah believes his new club are capable of matching the achievements of his previous employers Swansea City.

The 26-year-old joined Swindon on a free transfer this summer from last season's League One champions.

"I was surprised by the quality of the squad, its better that I thought," he told BBC Radio Swindon.

"Swindon Town players are right up there with the Swansea players. It's looking good for this season."

Town's next game is on Friday against FA Cup winners Portsmouth who are expected to give Peter Crouch his first outing since joining the club from Liverpool.
