Swindon Town manager Maurice Malpas says he is happy with the opening set of fixtures for the new season.

Swindon will play host to Tranmere on Saturday 9 August, before playing games with Cheltenham, Colchester and MK Dons later in the month.

He said: "I am happy that we kick off the new season at home.

"August is a good month for us and there isn't too much travelling to do which is a bonus. To be honest I am desperate to get started now."
