Swindon boss Maurice Malpas is hoping that defender Miguel Comminges will soon pledge his future to the Robins.
The Guadeloupe international, 26, has been discussing an extended deal with the club, and both sides hope an agreement will soon be reached.
"He's quick, he's decent in the sky and I'm sure he'll improve with coaching," Malpas told BBC Radio Swindon.
"He tells me he's a late starter, and he's desperate to go and play in the Championship. He's my type of player."
He added: "We'd like to think, as a team, that we could take him there."
Malpas is looking to add up to five new players to his squad over the summer.
