Swindon boss Maurice Malpas welcomed his side's change of luck in Saturday's 3-0 win at home to Oldham, but he believes they can still play better.
"We scored the goal, you could see the belief went up in the players and we scored another one quite quickly after that," he told BBC Radio Swindon.
"It's like two different teams. We get a little bit of luck and the confidence starts flowing among the players."
Town are now 15th in League One with five games left this season.
Malpas found Saturday's win particularly welcome after he had hit out at his critics in the local media in the build-up to the match.
"The players don't enjoy getting beat every week, and if people keep on telling them they're poor they'll think they're poor," he said.
"We've been trying to encourage them the other way, saying we've been playing well, which we have - I haven't been telling lies.
"I don't think we played particularly well but we won the game and that's all that matters."
