Swindon Town have had their total transfer embargo lifted by the Football League following Tuesday's successful takeover by Andrew Fitton's consortium. The Robins have been downgraded to a flexible embargo which means they can only sign and loan players with approval from the Football League.
"We have to keep [the Football League] informed of what we are doing," confirmed local businessman Fitton.
"Provided we do that there is no reason why we shouldn't operate normally."
The club must also report to the Football League to show evidence that they have paid off all the creditors.
The flexible embargo will be removed on 31 May once all agreements have been met between Fitton's consortium and the Football League.
