Swindon Town have signed Milton Keynes Dons midfielder Jon-Paul McGovern and Southend striker Billy Paynter for undisclosed fees. McGovern, 26, played under Robins boss Paul Sturrock at Sheffield Wednesday, before joining Milton Keynes in 2006.
He and former Port Vale and Hull front man Paynter, 23, have both signed three-year contracts at Swindon.
Meanwhile, Reading striker Simon Cox, 20, has joined the Robins in a loan deal which will run until 1 January.
The trio have not signed in time to feature against Crewe on Saturday, but could make their Town debuts against Brentford in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy next week.
