Eddie Howe turned Bournemouth's fortunes around in just one season
Bournemouth chairman Eddie Mitchell has told the BBC Swansea City have no chance of prising boss Eddie Howe away from Dean Court.
Howe was named by Swans chairman Huw Jenkins as the type of manager he is looking for to replace Paulo Sousa who quit on Sunday for Leicester City.
"I've got him handcuffed to the stadium," Mitchell told BBC Sport Wales.
"He isn't going anywhere at the moment and he is cutting his teeth with us."
Howe, 32, saved Bournemouth from the Football League drop in 2008/09 and then got the Cherries promoted last season as League Two runners-up.
All this was achieved while the Cherries operated under a transfer embargo for much of the season because of the south coast club's parlous financial situation.
Howe has already attracted interested from other clubs and last season turned down the chance to take over at Peterborough United.
"I can assure you at this moment in time, he is very happy," added Mitchell. "I wouldn't stand in his way, but I think he is very sensible.
"He's got unfinished business at Bournemouth. I don't think he's in any rush to go."
Also on Jenkins's list of young managers who have succeeded on limited budgets is Scunthorpe United boss Nigel Adkins.
He has achieved two promotions at Glanford Park and kept the Iron in the Championship last season, while operating on a budget that was not just the lowest in the division but also thought to be lower than several clubs in League One.
It is understood his chairman Steve Wharton has not received an approach from Swansea.
The same goes for Rochdale chairman Chris Dunphy who is away with the club on their pre-season training camp in Spain where manager Keith Hill is also present.
Hill took Rochdale out of the bottom tier of the Football League for the first time in 37 years, gaining automatic promotion having endured play-off heartache the previous two seasons.
Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope and Yeovil's Terry Skiverton are other names mentioned by Jenkins as possible contenders, but he could plump for another option altogether.
That is unlikely to be Brighton manager Gus Poyet though, the man who was widely believed to have been beaten to the job by Sousa last summer.
Seagulls managing director Ken Brown said: "There's been no contact from Swansea and if there was it would be a very firm 'no'.
