Gary Monk says Swansea have every incentive to beat Fulham
Swansea City captain Garry Monk is relishing the chance to face giants Manchester United in the FA Cup, if they can get past Fulham first.
The Championship side came from behind on Saturday to draw 1-1 and earn a replay at Craven Cottage.
If the Welsh side can beat Fulham, their reward is a home tie with a star-studded United side in the last eight.
"It's a massive incentive for us to... hopefully get the win against Fulham," Monk told BBC Sport Wales.
"To go and play them [United], especially at home, I think our fans will be over the moon if we can get through to this tie.
"They're the best team in the world right now and it would be a massive thing for us, a massive thing for the club and the city as a whole."
Swansea outplayed Fulham in Saturday's stalemate and were unfortunate to go behind to an own-goal when a corner deflected off Monk.
But Jason Scotland hit his 12th goal in as many games to equalise and deservedly earn a another go at Fulham, scheduled for Tuesday, 24 February.
"We're trying to focus one game at a time as we are but - I know it's a cliche to say - we try and let everyone else get carried away," Monk said.
The centre-back realises how potent an attacking threat United can field with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez, Dimitar Berbatov and Wales' own Ryan Giggs.
"I'm sure they're going to be scared of me, knowing pre-match they're up against me," joked Monk.
"But these are the times why you're footballers you know.
"This is why you train every day, for your whole life more or less, dreaming of being a footballer and being this close the chance of playing the best players in the world."
